Fertilizer is an important ingredient for agriculture. Fertilizers should be applied to produce good crops in less fertile or infertile land. Therefore, several rules should be followed to keep the fertilizer used in crops good.
In terms of fertilizer protection, the first thing to be taken care of is that when the fertilizer bag is lifted in the truck, the workers hook the fertilizer bag. First of all, don't hook the manure sack. Manure sacks should never be dragged on the ground. It should be remembered that while transporting the fertilizer, it should not get water in any way. Fertilizer can be damaged even if water is applied. Manure should never be kept in chaat sacks, as air moisture in chaat sacks can seriously damage the manure.
Fertilizers require suitable weather conditions. However, it is never possible to completely protect manure from heat and humidity. Proper care can prevent manure from getting wet. Even if compost is left in a light airy room throughout the day, closing all doors and windows in the evening when the air humidity is high can protect the compost from moisture. When manure becomes wet, it tends to clump, making it more likely to be damaged when farmers apply it to crops later.
Knowing the simple methods of manure maintenance can keep it safe at any time. The room where manure is stored should be dry and clean. Care should be taken not to stick manure bags on the walls and ceiling of the house.
It would be best to have separate shelves in the room where the manure bags are stored. It will be easy to know which fertilizer has arrived first and which has been kept for storage later. Don't waste old manure sacks for no reason.
Manure bags should be stacked in such a way that they do not collapse. For this, instead of directly arranging the sacks, you have to arrange a little corner. Fertilizer bags are usually made of plastic, so they should not be placed very high, at least not more than 3 meters.
Bagged manure should be kept on a dry and clean floor. Manure sacks should be stored on dry cement floors. No other agricultural produce shall be kept in the place where manure is stored.
If you follow these rules to keep the fertilizer safe, it is possible to prevent the loss of fertilizer to a large extent. Fertilizer should be maintained keeping in mind that if the fertilizer is saved, the crop will also be saved.
